The beginningOne of the biggest misconceptions about homemade sausage making is that you need a professional butcher's shop filled with expensive machinery.

The truth is much simpler.

For more than a decade I have been making fresh, cooked and smoked sausages in an ordinary home kitchen. Everything you see on this website has been developed using practical equipment that most home cooks can easily afford and store in a normal kitchen.

Many people are surprised when they discover that you don't need industrial grinders, commercial mixers or dedicated butcher rooms to produce fantastic results. With a small meat grinder, a few mixing bowls, a digital kitchen scale, a sharp knife and a handful of basic tools, you already have everything you need to begin your sausage-making journey.

The equipment shown below is used for many of the recipes you'll find throughout this website.

Simple equipment does not mean compromising on quality. By understanding the correct techniques, working cleanly, keeping everything cold and using quality ingredients, you can produce sausages that rival many commercially available products.

These are just a few examples of sausages prepared in my own kitchen using this equipment.
